# freeapp.ai

> A voice-driven AI coding agent that you install on a computer you own. You talk to it from an Android phone, it writes and ships code on your own VPS, home server or laptop, and it narrates every command it runs. Sold as a one-time founder license rather than a monthly subscription.

## What it is

freeapp.ai is a two-part system: an Android client and a daemon that you install on your own Linux machine. The daemon holds your code and your API keys. The phone is only a microphone and a screen. Pairing is over TLS, or over Tailscale when the daemon runs on a laptop, so code and keys never pass through freeapp.ai servers.

The agent is powered by Claude through your own Anthropic API key, so you pay Anthropic directly with no proxy and no markup. More agents and models are on the roadmap. Speech-to-text and text-to-speech run locally on your machine and device, so there are no per-minute voice API bills and no audio leaves your box.

## Who it is for

Developers and solo founders who already write software and want to keep making progress away from a desk: on a walk, on a commute, or at a cafe without a laptop. It is not a no-code app generator and it does not replace an IDE. It drives a real coding agent on real repositories.

## Pricing

- Founder license: 299 USD, one time, limited to 300 spots. Lifetime updates included. No subscription.
- After the founder spots are gone: 89 USD per month.
- Model usage is billed by Anthropic to your own API key, not by freeapp.ai.
- Local voice models cost nothing to run.

As of July 2026 the product is pre-launch: the site collects a founder waitlist and checkout is not open yet.

## How it compares

Most AI coding tools charge a recurring seat subscription and run the model on the vendor's infrastructure. freeapp.ai inverts both: you pay once, and the agent runs on hardware you control with keys you own. The tradeoff is that you have to run a machine, which is why the installer sets up the daemon and TLS in one script.
